Home Sweet Home

I feel like I have been on the road more than at home for the last two weeks. Joe and I headed to Nashville Thursday night because he had training there last Friday. I had the opportunity to go see my good friend Jessica and her new baby, Sidda Friday while Joe was in class. It was great visiting with Jessica and Sidda! Then Friday afternoon we headed to Memphis for the half marathon. After the race Saturday we ate lunch with everyone and then headed home! It was a whirlwind of a weekend. I am glad to finally be home!

13.1 Miles

Joe, Nathan, and Ashley ran in a half marathon Saturday in Memphis. I don't think the temperature got above 35 degrees during the 13 mile race Saturday. I am so proud of the guys for running this race. They finished in 1 hour, 49 minutes...which was 8 minutes faster than when Joe and I ran in a half marathon 2 years ago. Joe said this race was harder because of how cold it was. Vicki and I had fun watching the guys. We saw them start the race, then again at the 3 mile mark, and then finish in the Auto Zone ballpark. We tried to stay warm by going to Starbucks and the Peabody Hotel during the race. We also had fun visiting with Annie and Addie this weekend. Thanks Nana and Poppy for taking care of Anna. She had so much fun with you all!

A big crowd showed up for the race...8,000 half marathon runners and 3,000 full marathon runners.

Being at the race made me want to train for one again.

Birthday Dress

My grandmother hemmed Anna's birthday dress this weekend. I think it looks much better with her little legs showing. I tried taking a few pictures of Anna today in her dress. As you can see, I am not much of a photographer. Thank goodness I know a good one! The theme of Anna's party is going to be snowmen and snowflakes. I thought this little guy would look good in her picture. She LOVED playing with him. Here are a few pictures of our photo shoot.

Anna's First Thanksgiving...

Well, we will never forget Anna's first Thanksgiving...

We could tell Anna didn't feel well on Thanksgiving. She started out with a low-grade fever that eventually got to 104 Thursday night. All she wanted to do was lay on me. We gave her a cool bath and got her temp. down to 99 before she went to bed. She did great that night...sleeping all night! Then Friday morning she acted alot better. She had a low-grade fever again, but acted pretty normal. She ate, played, and napped well all day Friday. Then we drove to my parents' house Friday night. Saturday she had a low-grade fever again and started not playing or eating as well. Sunday morning, she woke up burning up with a fever again. All day Sunday, she just slept or layed on me. We drove home last night and she did great. She went to bed at 7:30 and slept until 9:00 this morning! We took her to the doctor this morning and found out it is a virus. She is not running a temperature anymore and I think she is on the road to recovery. She is taking a nap right now and will hopefully play well this afternoon.

In the first video you will see that Anna likes dogs more than her Mommy. In the second one, listen closely to Anna. She is laughing as she watched Emma and Jack playing. She is trying to laugh as loud as them. As you can see, she felt fine on Friday.
